
Maguindanao del Norte, April 10 2025 – The Marine Battalion Landing Team-2 under the 1st Marine Brigade, Philippine Marine Corps officially turned over a total of seven hundred ten (710) boxes of seized smuggled cigarettes; one (1) green Izuzu Close Van with plate number CAJ 2981; and one (1) yellow Euro4 CAMC dump truck with temporary plate number 1380-1078251 to the Bureau of Customs, Port of Davao City. The formal turnover was held at Headquarters Marine Battalion Landing Team-2, Brgy. Nituan, Parang, Maguindanao Del Norte in the presence of media.
Of the total, approximately four hundred ninety (490) boxes were confiscated on September 21, 2024, in Sitio Hulbot, Brgy Sarmiento, Parang, Maguindanao del Norte, while the remaining two hundred twenty (220) boxes were intercepted on April 7, 2025, in Brgy Lamin, Barira, Maguindanao del Norte with a total estimated value of P17,000,000.00 pesos.
The turnover was facilitated by Marine Battalion Landing Team-2 under the leadership of LTCOL JOHN A DE LA CRUZ PN(M), in close coordination with the Bureau of Customs, Port of Davao City, to ensure accurate inventory, documentation, and proper handling of the confiscated items. This accomplishment reflects the steadfast commitment and relentless efforts of MBLT-2 with the close supervision of 1st MBde in assisting local law enforcement agencies to protect communities, uphold peace, and deter illegal activities.
