April 6, 2025, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi – The 2nd Marine Brigade, in collaboration with the United States Marines’ Marine Special Operations Company – Philippines (MSOC-P) and MDRRMO-Bongao successfully conducted an emergency evacuation to save the life of Mr. Gabby Ramli, 40 years old, a resident of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi who sustained a gunshot wound and required urgent medical attention.

The Integrated Public Health Office (IPHO) of Tawi-Tawi assessed Mr. Ramli’s critical condition and alerted the 2nd Marine Brigade for an emergency evacuation. The Brigade provided critical assistance and worked with the U.S. Marines to ensure the transport of the patient to Zamboanga City. The U.S. Marine Special Operations Company – Philippines facilitated the evacuation by providing a military aircraft to expedite Mr. Ramli’s transfer for specialized medical procedures.

The transport was successfully conducted thru collaborative efforts of 2nd Marine Brigade and US Forces. This joint operation highlights the strong partnership between the United States and the Philippines in addressing emergency situations. The immediate response and teamwork exemplify a shared commitment to saving lives and providing assistance to the people of Tawi-Tawi."
