FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City- Two (2) Marine Enlisted Personnel were awarded the Gold Cross Medal during the 7th Founding Anniversary of the Special Operations Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines (SOCOM, AFP), held at the SOCOM AFP Noble Warrior Wellness Center, Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija, on 02 April 2025.

Technical Sergeant Edwin M Ampuan PN(M) and Staff Sergeant Bryan C Gonzaga PN(M) received the prestigious award, which was personally given by the Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., PA, for their acts of gallantry in action in recognition of their involvement in an armed encounter against members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) – Karialan Faction, at Sitio Pendililang, Barangay Kitango, Datu Saudi-Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur, on 22 April 2024.
